Join us for a fun filled family Easter drive-through event where kids can fill their Easter baskets! Be on the lookout for STRCs very own therapy HORSES and special guest the EASTER BUNNY to make an appearance!

The Sunshine Therapeutic Riding Center (STRC) is a 501(c)(3) equine-assisted therapy organization that aims to make hippotherapy (physical, occupational and speech therapy on horseback) and therapeutic riding services accessible to all individuals with disabilities in the greater Garland County area. These forms of therapy offer evidence-based benefits to the physical, emotional, and mental growth and development of people with disabilities.

Feature Article in Lakeside Living!

A new therapeutic riding center designed to improve the lives of individuals with disabilities has recently made its home in Hot Springs. A love for horses and their son’s Down syndrome diagnosis prompted Zach and Katja Summerlin to found Sunshine Therapeutic Riding Center (STRC) after realizing the need for this type of service in Garland County. Their vision is to make hippotherapy and therapeutic riding services accessible to all individuals with disabilities in the area for little to no cost.

Hot Springs is home to a new nonprofit organization that utilizes horses to deliver essential, previously unavailable services to adults and children with disabilities (cerebral palsy, Down syndrome, autism, wheelchair users, intellectual and developmental disabilities). The organization brings therapeutic riding and access to the only hippotherapy program in the county.
